Safe Opening · New City, NY

Locked out of your safe? Call me first.

Lost the combination, the keypad went dark, or the handle turns and nothing moves. I open home, gun, fire and commercial safes, and I start with the least invasive method that will work.

Don't pry or force it. That usually makes the job harder and more expensive.

When to call me

  • You forgot or lost the combination
  • The electronic keypad is dead, beeping or showing an error
  • You lost the key to a key-lock safe
  • The handle turns but the bolts won't retract
  • You inherited or bought a safe nobody can open
  • You're locked out of a gun safe or a fire safe

How I handle it

  1. Step 1: You call me directly

Tell me the make, the lock type and what happened. I'll tell you the price before I start.

  2. Step 2: I find the cause

I check whether it's the lock, the battery, the boltwork or the combination itself. Sometimes it's a simple fix.

  3. Step 3: I open it with precision

I use the least invasive method that will work. If drilling is needed, I explain why before I start.

  4. Step 4: You're back in

I show you what failed. If you want, I change the combination or replace the lock on the spot.

Questions about Safe Opening

Can you open a safe without the combination?

Yes. Opening safes when the combination or key is lost is a big part of what I do. The method depends on the lock and the safe, and I'll explain it before I start.

Will my safe be damaged?

My goal is minimal to no damage. I always start with the least invasive method. When drilling is the only way in, I keep it precise so the safe can be repaired and used again.

My keypad is dead. Is it just the battery?

Sometimes. A dead battery or a corroded battery contact is a common cause, and it's the first thing I check. If the keypad or lock has failed, I open the safe and replace the lock.

How fast can you get here?

Do you open gun safes?

Yes. I open gun safes with electronic and mechanical locks across Rockland, Bergen and Westchester.
