Combination & Lock Change
Lost the combination. Not the contents.
Moved into a home with a safe? Someone with the code left your business? A dial that's getting hard to turn? I change safe combinations, upgrade mechanical dials to electronic keypads, and replace locks before they fail.
A combination only protects you if the wrong people don't know it.
When to change it
- You bought a house or a used safe and don't know who has the code
- Someone who had access no longer should
- The dial feels rough or skips numbers
- You want a keypad instead of a dial, or a dial instead of a keypad
- The electronic lock is acting up
How I handle it
Step 1: Tell me what you have
The make and the lock type are enough to start. You can also text me a photo of the lock.
Step 2: Choose the right lock
If an upgrade makes sense, I help you choose between a mechanical dial and an electronic keypad.
Step 3: Change or replace
I change the combination or install the new lock, then test it again and again.
Step 4: Only you know it
You set the final code yourself before I leave.

Questions about Combination & Lock Change
When should I change my safe combination?
Any time someone who knew it no longer should: after a move, a staff change, a breakup, or buying a used safe.
Can I change the combination myself?
Some electronic locks let you change the code with the manager code. Mechanical dial locks have to be changed exactly right, or you can lock yourself out. If you're not sure, call me.
Mechanical dial or electronic keypad: which is better?
Keypads are faster to open and easy to re-code. Dials need no batteries. I'll help you choose based on how often you open the safe and who needs access.
Do you replace safe locks?
Yes. If a lock is worn or failing, I replace it and set it up with you before I leave.
